Working across traditional oil painting and sculptural acrylic, the practice centers on balance — softness and structure, movement and stillness, light and shadow.

Process
Each piece begins with conceptual sketches and material studies. Layers are built gradually, allowing the surface to evolve over time. In acrylic works, dimensional elements are carefully constructed to create depth beyond the canvas plane.

Background
Phu Nguyen started sketching and painting in 1973, with his talent and passion for art he started teaching art from 1980 to 1990, owning an art studio in Vietnam. After moving to the U.S, he does art as a passion and hobby.
